a garden inspired wedding, lanier + jake

Lanier and I both grew up in Asheville so have known one another for many years but when she reached out to me for her wedding planning, I had no idea she had moved to Atlanta, let alone less than a mile from where my husband and I currently reside!

Planning weddings with friends is always a special experience and I’m so glad that I had this one with Lanier. With a very busy job working for Target, Lanier needed all the help she could get and I was happy to step in and aid in the planning of her wedding logistics and details! One of my favorite things about being involved in the wedding planning process from day one is the opportunity to share and show off some of my favorite industry professionals to my clients and this wedding was so chalk full of stellar individuals and teams that we were able to hand pick specifically for this couple!

Lanier and Jake, thank you for trusting me fully with your wedding day and plans. The day was truly beautiful.

If you haven’t visited summerour, you are truly missing out. It hosts so much charm in its intimate, tuscan styled outdoor courtyard and allows for large events in its expansive and carefully designed warehouse interior. Lanier fell in love and booked Summerour right away and It turned out to be the perfect backdrop for their garden inspired wedding.

We ended up dividing the room in half to allow for a more intimate feel for their guest count of just under 100. With a carefully mapped out floorpan for reception, we made the center of the room a dance floor with the tables surrounding so that everyone was in on the fun! It was important to Lanier and Jake that dinner feel a bit more relaxed and the focus of this particular event stay more on socializing and dancing. Because of this, we opted for a stationed dinner and mix of square, round and highboy seating to encourage guests to move about freely throughout the evening. This has certainly been on of my favorite floor plans.

Dinner was catered by Summerour’s in house catering company Bold Catering and may have been the best meal I’ve personally had at a wedding! Floral was executed by Marigold and Moss and I am still swooning over Lanier’s bouquet and details! When Lanier described her wedding, she wanted a bouquet of β€˜weeds’ and β€˜sticks in glass’, working with Brit of Marigold and Moss, we were able to bring together a concept and design this ethereal, garden aestetic that truly fit Lanier’s personality and unique tastes. Her bouquet was wild, lush and full of hidden floral surprises. There were Manzanita branches galore and an amazing floral installation over the dance floor complete with tea light globes!

The photos really speak for themselves and who better to capture this event than fine art photographer, Eve Yarbrough! Check out more of our favorites below and be sure to check out the complete dream team at the bottom of the page!
