jess & cate, atlanta cityscape wedding

Jess & Cate were two of my favorite people to work with in wedding planning. I am so thankful for Laura Grover (Watson) for referring me to them and to the couple themselves for entrusting Like the Dazzling with their planning needs! From the moment I met these two, I knew that their wedding would be something special and that they would be such a pleasure to work with. Every last detail was meticulously thought out by these two ladies and planned to the T.

The only damper (pun intended) of the day was the weather itself. Thankfully Ceremony and Reception were already both planned inside at American Spirit Works, The Stave Room but we did have to do some readjusting for their photos as we originally planned for a first look at Piedmont Park that just was not possible given the forecast. One of the roads was completely flooded out on the way to the venue which made for a bit of excitement and good stories for the vendors arriving early that day. Goes to show that with the right group of professionals, nothing can hold your perfect day back!

Every aspect of this wedding as I mentioned was so personal and thoughtfully curated. The love that was shared between these two, as well as their family and friends was palpable the entirety of the day. When I say this crowd celebrated, I mean it! From the deafening applause upon announcing Mrs. and Mrs. at the end of the ceremony to the hype of dancing and laughter throughout the night, I tell you- this was a FUN crowd! Coincidence that these two planned their wedding in the month of PRIDE and also on the weekend of National Donut Day? I’ll let you guess, but there is no guessing that this was a wedding for the books and will be talked about and remembered not only by Jess & Cate themselves or their family and friends but their entire vendor family for a long time to come.

Jess & Cate, Thank you for allowing Like the Dazzling to play such a personal role in your wedding planning and day and for sharing your love with us all xx

a garden inspired wedding, lanier + jake

Lanier and I both grew up in Asheville so have known one another for many years but when she reached out to me for her wedding planning, I had no idea she had moved to Atlanta, let alone less than a mile from where my husband and I currently reside!

Planning weddings with friends is always a special experience and I’m so glad that I had this one with Lanier. With a very busy job working for Target, Lanier needed all the help she could get and I was happy to step in and aid in the planning of her wedding logistics and details! One of my favorite things about being involved in the wedding planning process from day one is the opportunity to share and show off some of my favorite industry professionals to my clients and this wedding was so chalk full of stellar individuals and teams that we were able to hand pick specifically for this couple!

Lanier and Jake, thank you for trusting me fully with your wedding day and plans. The day was truly beautiful.

If you haven’t visited summerour, you are truly missing out. It hosts so much charm in its intimate, tuscan styled outdoor courtyard and allows for large events in its expansive and carefully designed warehouse interior. Lanier fell in love and booked Summerour right away and It turned out to be the perfect backdrop for their garden inspired wedding.

We ended up dividing the room in half to allow for a more intimate feel for their guest count of just under 100. With a carefully mapped out floorpan for reception, we made the center of the room a dance floor with the tables surrounding so that everyone was in on the fun! It was important to Lanier and Jake that dinner feel a bit more relaxed and the focus of this particular event stay more on socializing and dancing. Because of this, we opted for a stationed dinner and mix of square, round and highboy seating to encourage guests to move about freely throughout the evening. This has certainly been on of my favorite floor plans.

Dinner was catered by Summerour’s in house catering company Bold Catering and may have been the best meal I’ve personally had at a wedding! Floral was executed by Marigold and Moss and I am still swooning over Lanier’s bouquet and details! When Lanier described her wedding, she wanted a bouquet of β€˜weeds’ and β€˜sticks in glass’, working with Brit of Marigold and Moss, we were able to bring together a concept and design this ethereal, garden aestetic that truly fit Lanier’s personality and unique tastes. Her bouquet was wild, lush and full of hidden floral surprises. There were Manzanita branches galore and an amazing floral installation over the dance floor complete with tea light globes!

The photos really speak for themselves and who better to capture this event than fine art photographer, Eve Yarbrough! Check out more of our favorites below and be sure to check out the complete dream team at the bottom of the page!

a celestial black tie wedding, meg + drew

Meg & Drew’s wedding day was filled with all kinds of fun, unique goodness. Everything from their specialty linens to their carefully curated floral design was well thought out and no detail was left without meaning. The bride collected vessels and decor pieces leading up to her wedding day that added a personal touch to their design including feathers brought home from their travels to Paris that were then used in the boutonnieres.
